Sierra Penn is Navajo, Omaho, Cheyenne Arapahoe, Sac & Fox, and Creek. She was born in Ogden and raised in Albuquerque, where her connection to land and community first began to take shape. She earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and went on to gain hands-on experience as an Indigenous Garden Educator, a Garden Coordinator, and researcher with KidsGardening. She also expanded her knowledge in sustainability and community engagement while interning as a Green Leader with Friends of Tryon Creek. Recently returning to Albuquerque, Sierra continues to deepen her commitment to caring and learning about Mother Earth and giving back to her the same way she has provided for everyone, everything, everyday. She is culturally rooted in her traditional teaching and connection to her ancestor’s. Outside of work she enjoys hot yoga, basketball, painting, gardening and beading.
