Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District has partnered with the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division to manage and restore 90 acres of former farmland in the North Valley to a wildlife cropping system using healthy soil principles, no-till methods and native riparian and upland habitat at the Candelaria Nature Preserve. We'd like to acknowledge our important and productive partnership at Candelaria Nature Preserve with Rio Grande Return. Their contributions of restoration knowledge and on-the-ground work are major contributions to the success of the CNP project!

Public tours are hosted the last Friday of every month, 10AM-12PM (limited to 24 people). Volunteer days occur every Monday and  Friday between  9AM- Noon.

UPCOMING EVENT (on Zoom): Wildlife of the Candelaria Nature Preserve, presented by Jo Strange, CABQ Open Space Division Field Biologist. Date: Thursday, January 25, 5:00-6:15 PM. Registration is required.
