Free Fire Safety Public Workshops

Ciudad SWCD and its cooperators hold workshops for Neighborhood Associations and at East Mountain community events to increase awareness of issues facing residents living on a wildland/urban interface.

A workshop may provide information and make resources available to the public in the event of an emergency in their area. At these events, Emergency and Natural Resource Management agencies make themselves available for comments and questions while encouraging communication between residents and communities.

Other topics available for community presentations are forest health, emergency preparedness, wildfire behavior and rainwater catchment systems. Check our calendar for upcoming events!

Other Projects

Many of the projects implemented by Ciudad SWCD involve education and outreach about forest and watershed health issues. Examples include Arid Low Impact Development, NM Envirothon, erosion control demonstrations (at Juan Tabo and at Tijeras Creek), and septic system education.
