August 17, 2006 Dear East Mountain Resident: My name is Ken Till and I am a retired Regional Fire Management Officer with 35 years of fire management background. I am very active in the East Mountain Community since arriving last fall from the Pacific Northwest. I am a member of the East Mountain Interagency Fire Protection Association, act as a CORE team member of the East Mountain Community Fire Protection Plan, and Chairman of the newly formed Paa-Ko Wildland Fire Safety Committee. Attached is a proposal in which I’m seeking the level of interest from neighborhood associations and residents of the East Mountain Area. The proposal is to establish an East Mountain FireWise Community. The attached FireWise Fact Sheet explains FireWise and also the specifics of the proposal. Your response will assist in guiding the effort in implementing FireWise in the East Mountains and gauge the level of support or interest. Please consider the attached proposal as it would be to our advantage to be unified in mitigating the effects of wildland fire. You can send your response electronically, by mail, or don’t hesitate to call. I can provide all the documents by E-mail. Just let me know and I’ll E-mail them to you. E-mail: kstill1@msn.com Mail: Ken Till; 11 Canyon Ridge Drive; Sandia Park, NM 87047 Phone: 505-286-0977 I am working with East Mtn.
